The Bangladesh Coast Guard has seized 21,000 yaba tablets in a successful anti-drug operation in Teknaf, Cox's Bazar, as part of its
ongoing campaign against narcotics.
According to Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon, Media Officer of the
Bangladesh Coast Guard, the operation was carried out around 2:00 a.m. on June 17 in the Hnila area under Teknaf Police Station,
based on confidential intelligence.
During the raid, Coast Guard
personnel searched a suspected location and recovered the yaba tablets, which
are estimated to have a market value of approximately BDT 10.5 million (1.05 crore).
However, the suspected drug
traffickers fled the scene after noticing the presence of law enforcement
officers, and no arrests were made during the operation.
The Coast Guard said that legal
procedures regarding the seized narcotics are currently underway.

Sujon added that the Bangladesh Coast Guard will continue its anti-narcotics
operations across the country and further strengthen special drives to curb the
spread of illegal drugs.
