Bangladesh Army Distributes Winter Clothing and Financial Aid to Underprivileged People in Alikadam

On the occasion of Christmas, the Bangladesh Army distributed winter clothing and provided financial assistance to underprivileged Christian families living in remote border areas of Alikadam in Bandarban. The humanitarian initiative was organized by the Alikadam Army Zone.

The program was held on Tuesday (23 December) from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm in the Chhotobeti Chaknapara area under the jurisdiction of the Alikadam Army Zone. Under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Md. Ashikur Rahman Ashik, SPP, PSC, 40 blankets were distributed among local hill residents, and each family received financial assistance of BDT 5,000.

Speaking on the occasion, Lieutenant Colonel Md. Ashikur Rahman Ashik said that the Bangladesh Army always stands beside the general people of the country. He added that such humanitarian activities would continue in the future for the welfare of people living in remote and underprivileged areas. Through mutual harmony, trust, and cooperation, peace, security, and development in the region would be further strengthened.

He also extended his greetings and best wishes to the Christian community on the occasion of Christmas.

Local public representatives, karbaris (community leaders), hill residents, and journalists from electronic and print media were present at the event. Local people said that such humanitarian assistance has further increased trust and goodwill toward the Bangladesh Army among the local community.
