‘Chitra Literary Magazine’ Unveiled in Chitalmari

The cover of the literary magazine ‘Chitra Literary Magazine’ was unveiled at a ceremony in Chitalmari, Bagerhat, on Friday (August 28).

The event was organized by the Chitalmari Upazila Literary Council at Metro Furniture on Shahid Minar Road in Chitalmari.

Chitalmari Upazila Nirbahi Officer Khadija Akter attended the programme as the chief guest, while Chitalmari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) Milon Ghosh was present as the special guest. The programme was chaired by Suranjan Debnath, former lecturer of the Bengali Department at Sher-e-Bangla Degree College, Chitalmari.

At the beginning of the programme, the invited guests were welcomed with bouquets. Participants were also greeted with tuberose flower stems.

Chitalmari Press Club President Ekramul Haque Munsi delivered the welcome speech. The publisher and editor of Chitra Literary Magazine, Pankaj Mondal, also addressed the gathering. Chitalmari Jubo Dal Member Secretary Sheikh Asaduzzaman attended the event as an honoured guest.

The programme was moderated by Hafizur Rahman, a teacher at Chitalmari S.M. School.

The event turned into a vibrant gathering of local journalists, writers, poets, reciters and literary enthusiasts. Speakers expressed hope that the publication would contribute to promoting literary activities and encouraging emerging writers in the local community.
