Gold prices have been reduced again in Bangladesh, with the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announcing a cut of up to Tk 2,158 per bhori for gold jewellery, including VAT.

BAJUS announced the new prices in a notice on Monday (September 28), with the revised rates taking effect from 10am.

The association said its Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring met at 9am Monday and reviewed international market trends and various factors in the domestic market before deciding on the new rates.

Under the revised pricing, a bhori (11.664 grams) of 22-carat gold, including VAT, will cost Tk 230,772. The previous price was Tk 232,930, meaning the price has fallen by Tk 2,158 per bhori.

The new price for 21-carat gold has been set at Tk 220,391 per bhori, while 18-carat gold will cost Tk 189,248. Gold sold under the traditional method will be priced at Tk 154,256 per bhori.

Silver prices have also been reduced. According to the new price list, a bhori of 22-carat silver will cost Tk 4,491, while 21-carat silver will be Tk 4,316, 18-carat silver Tk 3,732 and traditional-method silver Tk 2,799.

According to BAJUS’s revised price list, gold and silver jewellery will be sold at the new rates across Bangladesh from 10am Monday.
