Lions International Leads Cleanup, Tree Planting and Food Distribution Drive in Dhaka

A cleanliness drive, tree-planting program, and food distribution among underprivileged street children were held in the Aftab Nagar area of the capital. The event was jointly organized on Saturday by Lions Club of Dhaka Imperial, Leo Club of Dhaka Imperial, Everest Pharmaceuticals PLC, and Lidu Foundation.
Present at the event were District Governor of Lions International District 315 A2, Bangladesh, Lion Mohsin Imam Chowdhury PMJF. Also present were the club’s founders, Lion Swadesh Ranjan Saha and Lion Maya Rani Saha. Lion FCA Anjan Mallick, Co-founder of Everest Pharmaceuticals, Dhaka, was also present. In addition, other Lions and Leo leaders were present.
At the beginning of the event, a cleanliness drive was carried out in the Aftab Nagar area with the aim of keeping the city clean. At that time, garbage and waste were cleaned from roads, footpaths, and surrounding areas. Afterwards, trees were planted to preserve ecological balance. The organizers said that such activities will continue in the future to protect the city’s environment and raise public awareness.
At the closing stage of the event, food was distributed among underprivileged street children of Lidu Foundation. This initiative was taken to bring a little touch of joy into the children’s lives and to express compassion toward them. At that time, the children were encouraged to behave responsibly toward the environment and to take part in good deeds.
Local residents welcomed this humanitarian initiative of Lions International. They expressed hope that if such activities continue in the future, they will play an important role in improving the quality of life of underprivileged people in society.
