According to a report by Dhaka Post, a missile struck one of the airport terminals, triggering a fire. Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation confirmed the death of a Pakistani national in a statement posted on social media platform X.
The report said 13 people were killed and 308 injured in missile and drone attacks on the same airport on Saturday. The victims included two Bangladeshi nationals, as well as citizens of Saudi Arabia, the United States, Jordan, Palestine, Egypt and India.
Yahya Saree, the Houthi military spokesperson, claimed responsibility for both rounds of attacks. He warned that Saudi airports and airspace could be targeted, excluding those in Mecca and Medina. The Houthis also claimed attacks on Dammam airport and several oil facilities.
Turki Al-Maliki, spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition, described the attacks as war crimes and warned of a strong response. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said Washington would make a decision soon on whether to take military action against the Houthis.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran was ready to help facilitate dialogue between Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s Houthi administration.
