A man named Ala, currently living in Saudi Arabia, has accused his uncle, Haji Dukh Mia, of allegedly forging land documents, illegally occupying family property and threatening his relatives in Kanachar village under Hazaratpur Union in Keraniganj, Dhaka district.
According to Ala, the dispute centres on nine decimals of land in the village. He alleged that his uncle fraudulently claimed ownership of the property by allegedly presenting his wife as his sister in forged land documents.
The complainant has urged the authorities to investigate the allegations and take legal action against anyone found involved in the alleged forgery and illegal occupation of the property.
The complaint refers to several land records, including CS Khatian No. 119, SA Khatian No. 224 and RS Khatian No. 1310. The disputed property is reportedly associated with CS Dag No. 110, SA Dag No. 639 and RS Dag No. 272, covering nine decimals of land.
Ala alleged that his family lost possession of the property after his uncle used documents that he claims were forged. He also questioned whether anyone from the relevant land administration offices had assisted in preparing or processing the disputed documents.
However, the authenticity of the deeds and the allegations against the land administration have not been independently verified.
Speaking about the dispute, Ala said he had been working in Saudi Arabia when his family allegedly lost possession of the land.
He claimed that his uncle forcibly occupied the property, demolished his father's house, looted belongings and evicted family members. He also alleged that his relatives had received threats, leaving them concerned for their safety.
Ala further claimed that his uncle had invoked his political connections to suggest that no action could be taken against him.
Appealing to the government, Ala urged the authorities to investigate the matter, protect his family and take appropriate legal action if the allegations were proven.
According to the complainant's account, some local residents also alleged that political influence had been used in connection with land disputes in the area. They called on the authorities to investigate the allegations of land grabbing, intimidation and possible misuse of political connections.
The claims concerning political influence and alleged assistance from government officials could not be independently verified.
Attempts to contact Haji Dukh Mia by mobile phone to obtain his response to the allegations were unsuccessful.
The complainant has called on the relevant land administration authorities, law enforcement agencies and the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to investigate the alleged forgery and land grabbing and take legal action against anyone found responsible.
The allegations require independent verification through examination of the disputed deeds, land ownership records and other relevant evidence. Haji Dukh Mia's response should also be sought before any conclusions are drawn.
