A views exchange meeting was held between Pirojpur Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Md. Golam Rabbani and government officials, political leaders and prominent citizens of Bhandaria upazila.

The meeting was organised by the upazila administration at the Upazila Parishad auditorium at 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 27.

Bhandaria Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Hasibul Hasan chaired the meeting.

Among those who spoke were Assistant Commissioner (Land) Ujjal Haldar, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Md. Ibrahim Mollha, Upazila Agriculture Officer Md. Nazrul Islam, Livestock Officer Dr Shudeb Sarkar, Social Services Officer Md. Matiur Rahman and Primary Education Officer Md. Badiuzzaman.

Political leaders present included Bhandaria Upazila BNP General Secretary Md. Monir Hossain Akon, Municipal BNP Convener Abdul Mannan Howlader, Upazila BNP Joint General Secretary Md. Delwar Hossain Biplob, Organising Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Molad Jamaddar, former Upazila BNP Senior Joint Convener Sikder Zakir Hossain Bacchu and Upazila Jubo Dal Member Secretary HM Shamim Howlader. Journalist Jewel was also present, among others.

The meeting emphasised building a drug-free society, improving the quality of education and maintaining law and order in the upazila. Participants also discussed various local problems and issues related to public interests.

Following the meeting, the deputy commissioner was scheduled to participate in a tree-planting programme and visit Bhandaria Municipality, the Upazila Land Office, Gouripur Union Parishad and its land office.
