State Minister for Public Administration Md. Abdul Bari has informed that, according to the updated manpower data of government employees as of December 31, 2023, there are a total of 468,220 vacant posts in government services across the country. In addition, a total of 1,450,891 officials and employees are currently working. Among the vacant posts, 68,884 are first-class positions.

He disclosed this information in Parliament on Wednesday while responding to a starred question from Sheikh Md. Rezaul Islam, Member of Parliament from Naogaon-6 constituency.

The State Minister further said, “Based on the updated manpower data of government employees as of December 31, 2023, and according to the latest published Statistics of Public Servants 2024, the number of employees working in various ministries and government offices.

In addition, 7,980 officials/employees are working in other categories, while 8,136 posts remain vacant.
