Bangladesh captain Litton Das won the toss
and chose to field first in the opening match of the T20I series against New
Zealand national cricket team in Chattogram.
Standing in for regular skipper Tom Latham,
who is sidelined due to an injury picked up during practice, Nick Kelly led the
visitors in the toss.
The match marks the start of the T20I series
following the recently concluded ODI series between the two sides. The game is
being held at the Bir Sreshtho Matiur Rahman Stadium.
Weather conditions in Chattogram were
somewhat uncertain ahead of the match. Heavy rain overnight and in the morning
was followed by a brief period of sunshine, but clouds gathered again shortly
before the toss.
Bangladesh will be aiming for a strong start
at home, while New Zealand, under new leadership, will look to put up a
competitive fight in the shorter format.
