A Dakhil result aspirant named Sabbir Hossain (17) was tragically killed in a lightning strike in Sherpur upazila of Bogura. The incident took place at 9 am on Tuesday (June 9) in Kanaikandar village of Shahbandegi union of the upazila. The deceased Sabbir Hossain is the son of Saiful Islam of the same village. He had appeared in the 2026 Dakhil examination from the local Fultala Dakhil Madrasa. According to local sources, Sabbir was struck by lightning when it suddenly started raining while he was working near his house on Tuesday morning. When family members tried to rescue him and quickly take him to a local hospital, it was confirmed that he died on the spot. Shahbandegi Union Parishad Chairman Maulana Abul Kalam Azad said, "Sabbir was a very polite and talented student. His untimely death in a lightning strike has cast a shadow of grief over the area. I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved family and pray to Almighty Allah for the forgiveness of his soul."
