Angry parents and local people have blocked an assistant teacher named Mozahar Ali in Bogura's Shajahanpur upazila on charges of sexually harassing a schoolgirl. Later, the police went to rescue him and took him into police custody. The incident took place at Dahikandi Government Primary School in the upazila on Monday (June 8) afternoon. The accused Mozahar Ali is working as an assistant teacher at the school.

According to local and school sources, teacher Mozahar Ali had been sexually harassing a student of the school in various ways for a long time. When the matter came to light, the student's guardians and local residents erupted in anger on Monday afternoon. They went to the school and locked the accused teacher in a classroom.

To escape the angry mob, the accused teacher Mozahar Ali confessed his crime in front of everyone present and apologized. However, his apology did not appease the anger of the locals.​

Upon receiving the information, the Shajahanpur police station quickly reached the spot. After bringing the situation under control, the police rescued the teacher Mozahar Ali from the locked room and took him into police custody.​Agitated parents and local residents have expressed strong condemnation and anger over the incident. They have strongly demanded that the safety of the vulnerable students be ensured and exemplary punishment be given to the accused teacher.

 Shajahanpur police said the accused teacher is currently in police custody. Legal action will be taken in this regard.
