Man Held with 1,600 Yaba Tablets in Fakirhat Police Raid

Police have arrested a man with 1,600 yaba tablets during an anti-narcotics operation in Fakirhat upazila of Bagerhat district.
The arrested man is Sakibur Haque Tamim (36), son of late Enamul Haque of the Khalishpur area in Khulna.
According to police, acting on confidential information, a team from Fakirhat Model Police Station conducted a raid in the Attaki Highway area early on Wednesday (June 24). During the operation, police detained Tamim and recovered 1,600 yaba tablets from a bag in his possession. A mobile phone and the bag were also seized.
A case has been filed against him under the Narcotics Control Act.
Fakirhat Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Sheikh Saiful Islam said that the suspect was allegedly waiting near the highway to sell the drugs when police arrested him. He was later produced before the court and sent to jail.
Police said their anti-drug operations will continue to curb narcotics trafficking in the area.
