A newly renovated and modernized Conference-cum-Executive Room of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, Bagerhat Unit, was officially inaugurated on Monday (July 27, 2026), marking a significant step toward strengthening the unit's administrative and operational capacity.

The renovation project was completed with the patronage of Bagerhat Deputy Commissioner Golam Mohammad Baten, while the overall supervision was carried out by Md. Mahbubur Rahman Tutul, Honorary Secretary of the Bagerhat Red Crescent Unit. The project was implemented by the Unit's Executive Committee.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Deputy Commissioner, who formally opened the facility by cutting the ribbon.

Among those present were Honorary Secretary Md. Mahbubur Rahman Tutul; Executive Committee Members Md. Al-Amin Sardar and Nargis Akter Eva; Unit Level Officer Md. Hannan; Diksha Khadka, IFRC Asia Pacific Regional Coordinator; Senior Technical Officer Mamunur Rashid; D.M. Nazmul Alam, Manager (In-Charge) of the CDRRnCA Program; Senior PMER Officer Shahadat Hossain; Finance Officer Monalisa Rupa; Senior Program Officer Tanvir Mahmud Akash; Assistant Program Officer Imdad Elahi Chowdhury; Md. Shariful Islam Jewel, Project Associate of the MACP Responsive Grant Bangladesh Project; former Youth Chief Mohammad Naimur Rahman; current Youth Chief Rakibul Islam; and other members of the Youth Red Crescent.

Speakers at the event said the newly upgraded conference-cum-executive room, equipped with modern facilities, will significantly enhance the unit's administrative functions, training sessions, meetings, strategic planning, and disaster management activities. They expressed hope that the new facility would further strengthen the institutional capacity of the Bagerhat Red Crescent Unit and improve the quality of humanitarian services delivered to the community.

Following the inauguration, the guests toured the newly renovated facility and highly appreciated its modern design, improved infrastructure, and pleasant working environment.
