Youth Arrested with Three Bottles of Foreign Liquor in Chitalmari

Police have arrested a 24-year-old youth with three bottles of foreign liquor during a routine road search in Chitalmari upazila of Bagerhat.
The arrest was made at around 4:30 pm on Monday (August 10, 2026) in front of Ratnapur Jame Mosque in Chitalmari.
According to police, SI Emon, ASI Anichur, ASI Enamul, ASI Alamin and accompanying police personnel were conducting a routine search operation on the road. At one point, they stopped and searched a young man and recovered three bottles of foreign liquor from his possession.
The arrested youth was identified as Amit Mondal, 24, son of Asim Mondal, of Kolkalia village under Fakirhat police station in Bagerhat.
Police said a case has been filed against him under the Narcotics Control Act, 2018. The case number is 7, dated August 10, 2026.
Chitalmari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Shahidur Rahman confirmed the arrest and said legal action has been taken against the accused.
