On the occasion of World Father’s Day,
Universal Medical College Hospital organised a month-long digital campaign
titled ‘In Father’s Care’ under the slogan “Healthy Father, Safe Family.” Five
winners of the campaign were felicitated at a ceremony held on Monday (17
August) afternoon in the meeting room of the hospital located at Mohakhali in
the capital.
Five winners were selected from numerous
stories written about love, memories and feelings for fathers. They are —
Sumaiya Jahan (Father: Ahmed Hossain, Brahmanbaria), Lucky Akter Seema (Father:
Montaj Uddin Akond, Gazipur), Taiyeba Tasbin Lamia (Father: S M Ataur Rahman,
Narayanganj), Fariha Ridila (Father: Farukul Islam, Mymensingh) and Kazi Milha
(Father: Kazi Mizanur Rahman, Dhaka).
Special gifts, a complete free health
check-up package and a special health card were handed over to the winners and
their fathers. Through this card, they and their families will receive priority
and special benefits in the hospital’s healthcare services.
The main discussant of the programme was the
distinguished short-story writer, former President of the National Council of
Prothom Alo Bondhushabha and Director (Club & Welfare) of Daily Agamir
Shomoy newspaper, Saiduzzaman Rawshan (Dantya Rawshan).
Present at the event were Dr. Ashish Kumar
Chakraborty, Managing Director of Universal Medical College Hospital; Head of
Corporate Neeta Chakraborty; senior officials of the hospital, physicians and
invited guests.
The speakers said that ensuring the good
health of the father, the banyan tree of the family, is the moral
responsibility of every child. Universal Medical College Hospital has taken
this humanitarian initiative as part of its social responsibility. It was
expressed that such campaigns for the protection of fathers’ health will
continue in the future as well.
It is worth mentioning that Universal Medical
College Hospital has for a long time been organising the Garobini Ma honour on
World Mother’s Day, the ‘Top Ten Genius Intern Doctors’ award for the top ten
meritorious doctors in the MBBS final examination, the Ashutosh Chakraborty
Memorial Education Scholarship among meritorious students in Sarail of
Brahmanbaria, and free medical camps on special days. The programme was
conducted by the hospital’s Head of Brand C. F. Zaman.
