Iran is using the official farewell ceremonies for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to project both religious and political messages. Through state-organized mourning processions, symbolic slogans, and mass public gatherings, authorities are emphasizing the ideals of the Islamic Revolution, national unity, and the continuity of Shiite religious leadership.

During the ceremonies, the widespread use of black and red colors, the slogan "We Must Rise", and red flags bearing the inscription "O Avengers of Hussein" have been presented as symbols of martyrdom, resistance, and retribution. Iranian authorities are also officially portraying Khamenei's death as an act of martyrdom.

The planned mourning procession from Tehran to the Shiite holy cities of Qom, Najaf, Karbala, and Mashhad is being viewed as a symbolic representation of Iran's ideological ties with major centers of Shiite Islam.

Representatives from various regional groups and countries, including Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthi movement, have also attended the ceremonies, highlighting Iran's regional political alliances and influence.
