As part of an ongoing public awareness initiative, the Traffic Division of the Brahmanbaria District Police conducted a special road safety campaign on June 17, 2026, beginning at 11:15 a.m., to encourage motorcycle riders to wear helmets.

Instead of taking immediate legal action against riders found without helmets, traffic officers adopted a positive and educational approach. During the campaign, 34 motorcyclists were encouraged to purchase new helmets at their own expense and were advised to make helmet use a regular habit for their own safety.

The Traffic Division also recognized and appreciated law-abiding riders by presenting them with flowers as a gesture of encouragement. Officers urged all motorcyclists to wear standard helmets at all times and practice safe driving.

Speaking at the event, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle), M. M. Rakib Ur Raja, emphasized that wearing a quality helmet is one of the most effective ways to reduce fatalities and serious injuries in motorcycle accidents. He called on all riders to make helmet use a mandatory part of every journey.

Earlier, on June 16, the Brahmanbaria Traffic Division carried out a day-long awareness campaign across the town using loudspeakers to encourage motorists to follow traffic laws and road safety regulations.
