Important Meeting in Malaysia to Strengthen Muslim Unity, Halal Tourism, Humanitarian Cooperation

At the invitation of Mohamed Azmi Abdul Hamid, President of the Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations-an umbrella body comprising 87 Islamic organizations in Malaysia—Masood Sayedee attended an important formal meeting at the council’s headquarters. The meeting took place on Saturday evening in Kuala Lumpur, where key topics such as Muslim unity, humanitarian cooperation, halal tourism, and social welfare initiatives were discussed in detail.

 

During the meeting, it was highlighted that the Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations has long been working for the welfare of the global Muslim Ummah. The organization is actively engaged in initiatives such as housing construction for the underprivileged, job creation, interest-free loan programs, halal tourism development, Muslim-friendly hospitality, and the promotion of a halal food ecosystem.

 

Masood Sayedee emphasized the importance of unity among Muslims in the current global context. He stated that mutual cooperation, knowledge sharing, and humanitarian initiatives can significantly strengthen the Muslim community. He also proposed launching housing projects for the homeless and interest-free loan programs for unemployed youth in Bangladesh. Furthermore, he stressed the importance of developing internationally standard halal tourism and expanding a safe and widely accepted halal food system.

 

Both sides expressed optimism about strengthening bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Malaysia. They showed a positive outlook on working jointly in areas such as humanitarian development, regional cooperation, Islamic economy, and the overall welfare of the Muslim Ummah.

 

President Mohamed Azmi Abdul Hamid highlighted the global importance of halal tourism and the halal food ecosystem and expressed hope for increased collaboration, exchange of experience, and joint initiatives between Bangladesh and Malaysia in the future.

 

Among others present at the meeting were D.M. Imdadul Haque, Managing Director of Istanbul Hotel & Resort Limited; Abu Tayyab Rashed, Director (Sales & Marketing); Hafizur Rahman, Director (Administration); Dr. Mohammad Belal Hossain, a member of the American Bar Association and community leader; as well as ABIM leader and social worker Sawban Azad, along with other distinguished figures.
