Burial of Master Shahidul Islam Completed

Master Shahidul Islam, a respected educator and expatriate from Kalikrishnanagar village under the Chhoygram administrative area of Burichang upazila, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 4:40 pm at his residence. He was the fourth son of the late Waj Uddin. (Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji‘un).

Master Shahidul Islam began his professional career as a teacher at Kodalia Primary School, where his dedication and integrity earned him wide recognition as “Master” among students and locals. He later left the teaching profession and spent nearly two decades living and working in Malaysia as an expatriate.

In his personal life, he was married to Hasina Begum, the second daughter of the late Maghfur Mohammad Ali Darbesh (R.), a prominent khalifa of the Naghaish Darbar from Chhinaiya. He is survived by two sons, one daughter, and numerous relatives, well-wishers, and admirers. His elder son, Maulana Zobayer Ahmad, is associated with Darunnajat Siddiqia Kamil Madrasa in Dhaka, while his younger son, Maulana Fayez Ahmad, is serving as a lecturer at Hajiganj Degree College.

The janazah (funeral prayer) of the deceased was held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at his residence. People from distant areas joined family members, colleagues, students, and locals to pay their final respects. Among those present were Sheikhul Hadith Mufti Abdul Latif Sheikh, Chief Muhaddith of Darunnajat Siddiqia Kamil Madrasa; Chief Mufassir Maulana Munirul Islam; Professor Abdus Shakur; historian Hanif Siraji; Mozammel Haque, Principal of Hajiganj Degree College; Jahangir Alam, Principal of Chhoygram Alim Madrasa, along with many other scholars, educators, and community leaders.

After the janazah, Master Shahidul Islam was laid to rest at the family graveyard. His passing has cast a pall of grief over the area. The bereaved family has requested prayers from the public, seeking Allah’s mercy so that the departed soul may be granted a place in Jannah and the family be blessed with patience during this time of sorrow.
