Five people have been arrested with 300 grams of cannabis during a special operation conducted by the District Detective Branch (DB) of police in Bagerhat. The arrests were made in the Khan Jahan Ali Mazar area under Bagerhat Sadar Model Police Station.

The arrested individuals were identified as Nasir Mallik, 27, son of Chandu Mallik of Shakharikathi village in Nazirpur upazila of Pirojpur; Mohammad Ali, 46, son of late Habibur Rahman of Nonadanga area in Bagerhat; Ashiq Bepari, 32, son of Mozammel of Nagerbazar area; Sohag Howladar, 30, son of Ramzan Howladar of Khaserhat in Chitalmari upazila; and Md. Babla Paik, 33, son of Amiruddin Paik of Chirulia area in Bagerhat.

According to the District Detective Branch, the five were detained during a special anti-drug operation. A total of 300 grams of cannabis was recovered from their possession. Legal action against the arrested individuals is underway, police said.
