Janata Bank
PLC has introduced a new low-cost remittance service for expatriates living in
the United Arab Emirates. From now on, money can be sent directly to bKash
wallets through four UAE branches—Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Sharjah, and Dubai.
The service
was officially inaugurated on Monday (May 18) at Janata Bank’s head office
through a simple ceremony. The inauguration was conducted virtually by Tariq
Ahmed, the Ambassador of Bangladesh to the UAE.
The event
was chaired by Md. Fazlur Rahman. Also present were Managing Director Md.
Mojibur Rahman, Deputy Managing Director Kazi Abdur Rahman, and General Manager
of the head office Mohammad Anis. From bKash, Head of Remittance Zahidul Ahsan
and Tanvir Mahmud were present at the event.
It was
stated that through this new service, expatriates will be able to send money to
their family members’ bKash wallets in Bangladesh quickly, securely, and at a
lower cost. This initiative is expected to simplify the remittance process and
increase the flow of expatriate income through formal channels.
Senior officials from Janata Bank’s UAE operations and other units also joined the event online.
