FC Barcelona have secured the Spanish La Liga title before the end of the season after defeating arch-rivals Real Madrid in a thrilling El Clásico clash. The Catalan giants claimed their 29th league title with the victory.

Playing at Camp Nou, Barcelona started aggressively and took an early lead through a sensational free-kick from Marcus Rashford. The English forward’s brilliant strike gave the hosts control of the match from the opening stages.

Ferran Torres later doubled the lead with a composed finish, making Barcelona’s path to victory more comfortable. After scoring, both players celebrated with coach Hansi Flick, dedicating the moment to him following the recent death of his father.

With this win, Barcelona claimed back-to-back La Liga titles. Real Madrid still hold the record for the most Spanish league titles with 36, but Barcelona have narrowed the gap with their latest triumph.

Barcelona are currently on an impressive run of 11 consecutive league victories and sit 14 points ahead of Real Madrid, making it mathematically impossible for their rivals to catch them in the remaining matches. The victory also marked Barcelona’s 18th straight home win of the season.
