A motorcyclist was killed in a tragic road accident after being hit by a passenger bus on the Mongla–Khulna Highway in the Bhagabazar area of Rampal Upazila, Bagerhat.

The accident occurred at around 10:00 a.m. on Monday (July 27).

The deceased was identified as Hafez Ebarat Ali (50), a resident of Islamabad village in Rampal Upazila. He was widely known in the locality as "Boro Hafez Sahib."

According to local sources, a passenger bus traveling from Mongla to Khulna struck the motorcycle from behind while both vehicles were moving in the same direction near Bhagabazar. The impact threw Ebarat Ali off the motorcycle onto the road, where he was run over by the bus. He died instantly at the scene.

Local residents rushed to the spot immediately after the accident and informed the police. Officers later recovered the body and initiated the necessary legal procedures. The tragic incident has cast a pall of grief over the local community.
