A research seminar aimed at promoting
evidence-based activities and building a knowledge-driven administration was
held on Monday (June 29, 2026) at the office of Zone-7 of the Capital
Development Authority (RAJUK) in Mohakhali, Dhaka. Two important research
papers focusing on urban development, digital services, and building
construction regulations were presented during the seminar.
The seminar was chaired by Md. Ilias,
Authorized Officer of Zone-7/1, and attended by the Director of Zone-7, Md.
Mainul Abedin (Deputy Secretary), as the chief guest. Government Authorized
Officers, the Chief Building Inspector, Building Inspectors, and officials from
various units of Zone-7 also participated in the event.
The first research paper, titled "To
Evaluate the Effectiveness of Electronic System (ECPS) of RAJUK,"
was presented by Md. Mehedi Hasan, Government Authorized Officer of Zone-7/2.
The study examined the effectiveness of RAJUK's Electronic Construction Permit
System (ECPS), its impact on service quality, and various aspects of digital
service delivery.
The second paper, titled "A
Comparative Study of the Dhaka Metropolitan Building Construction Regulations
2008 and 2025," was presented by Mehedi Hasan Shakil, Government
Authorized Officer of Zone-7/1. The study provided a comparative analysis of
the changes, key features, and implementation aspects of the 2008 and 2025
editions of the Dhaka Metropolitan Building Construction Regulations.
Following the presentations, participating
officials engaged in constructive discussions and shared their observations on
the research findings. Speakers noted that such research-based initiatives
would play a significant role in improving RAJUK's service delivery, supporting
policy formulation, and strengthening administrative efficiency.
At the conclusion of the seminar, the two
presenters were honored with awards in recognition of their research
contributions.
