Sarjis Alam, the chief organizer of the National Citizens Committee and the general secretary of the July Shaheed Smriti Foundation, said, "We think that the demand for such a big uprising, so much blood, so much life, is not limited to just one election. We certainly think that those who will be the representatives of the people through elections in a short time, through transparent elections, will have no problem with that. But it is simply unrealistic and impossible to update a new voter list, fix the Election Commission, reform the judiciary and restore the law and order forces to their original role within six months."
He said these words in response to questions from reporters after distributing blankets to cold-stricken people at the Maqbul Rahman Government College grounds in Panchagarh on Friday afternoon.
