Kamrul Hasan Talukder, officer-in-charge (OC) of Airport Police Station under the Uttara Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and president of the Bangladesh Police Association, has been awarded the prestigious President’s Police Medal (PPM) Service.
He received the honour in recognition of his courage, dedication and effective role in combating crime at the field level. The award has been widely praised within the police administration as recognition of his contribution to maintaining law and order and ensuring public safety.
Since taking charge as OC of Airport Police Station, one of the capital’s important and sensitive areas, Kamrul Hasan Talukder has adopted strict and timely strategies to control crime.
Under his leadership, police operations have focused particularly on curbing drug trafficking, tackling the activities of juvenile gangs and swiftly investigating sensational crimes and incidents of snatching. His direct supervision of various operations has reportedly produced positive results and helped strengthen public confidence in the police.
Internal assessments within the police department indicate that he was selected for the prestigious award not merely for carrying out routine administrative duties, but also for his courage in confronting challenging situations on the frontline.
Alongside his responsibilities as a police officer, Talukder is also serving as president of the Bangladesh Police Association.
His achievement has brought a sense of celebration to the Uttara Division of DMP and the wider police community. Colleagues expressed hope that the recognition through the PPM Service award will further strengthen his professional career and inspire him to play an even greater role in combating crime and protecting public safety.
