The Islami Bank Conscious Customer Forum held a sit-in and human chain action at the Bogura main gate of Bogura Metropolitan Bank from 10 am to 11 am on Tuesday to protest the removal of the chairman of Islami Bank, protection of deposits, protection of customers' interests, boycott of S Alam and his fascist accomplices, and the brutal police attack on customers in Dhaka.

During the sit-in and human chain, the President of the Customer Forum, Advocate Shahin Mia, the first depositor of the bank in 1985, prominent scholar Maulana Abdul Halim Beg, member secretary labor leader Azgar Ali, Professor Rafiqul Alam, Maulana Abdul Hamid Beg, spoke at the human chain in front of the Islami Bank Bogura branch on Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam Road.

Advocate Nurul Islam Akand, Principal Iqbal Hossain, Enamul Haque Maulana Abdus Salam, Rabiul Islam Raj, former councilor Ruhul Quddus Dilu, Bogura Motor Workers Union Vice-President Idris Ali, labor leader Alif Mahmud, and others.

The speakers said that according to the Banking Companies Act 1991, there is a provision for the formation of a bank's board of directors, but the government intervened in Islami Bank and appointed Khurshid Alam, a friend of S Alam, who robbed the bank, as the chairman of Islami Bank. The speakers called for the immediate expulsion of Khurshid Alam. The newly appointed chairman is an accomplice of Awami fascism and a loan defaulter. He will not be able to save the bank. If he is retained in this important position, the bank will face looting again and the deposits of the common people will become unsafe.
