Dhaka’s sky may remain temporarily partly cloudy today, but no rain is expected. With dry weather prevailing, daytime temperatures may rise slightly, making the heat feel somewhat more intense than yesterday.

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) provided the forecast for Dhaka and adjoining areas for the six hours from 7am on Sunday (September 27).

According to the forecast, winds may blow from the south or southeast at a speed of 10 to 15 kilometres per hour. The temperature in the capital was 27°C at 6am, while relative humidity was recorded at 90 percent.

Dhaka recorded a maximum temperature of 34.5°C yesterday. The minimum temperature today was 26.4°C. No rainfall was recorded in the capital during the previous 24 hours.

The BMD said the sun will set in Dhaka at 5:50pm today and rise at 5:49am on Monday.

Meanwhile, no warning has been issued for the country’s inland river ports from 5am to 1pm today, and no signal needs to be displayed at the river ports during this period.

However, the nationwide forecast issued last night said that light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty winds, may occur at one or two places in the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions by 6pm today.

The weather office also forecast a slight rise in both daytime and nighttime temperatures across the country today.
