A tragic incident occurred in the Purbapara area of Keshabpur village in Titas upazila of Comilla where an elder brother was killed by his younger brother over a family dispute. The incident, which took place on Wednesday (June 17) afternoon, has created shock and excitement in the area.
According to local sources, Manik and Rajib, two sons of Habibur Rahman (Habi) Mia, a resident of Keshabpur village, had been in a dispute over family matters for a long time. In the wake of this, on Wednesday around 2:30 pm, during a heated argument between the two brothers, the younger brother Rajib got angry and hit his elder brother Manik with a spade.
Locals said that Manik was seriously injured in the sudden attack and died on the spot. The accused Rajiv fled the area immediately after the incident.
Upon receiving the information, law enforcement officials quickly reached the spot, brought the situation under control and started necessary legal proceedings, including the cremation of the deceased's body. At the same time, it is reported that a drive is being conducted to arrest the accused.
Local residents said they could not have imagined such a horrific outcome of a family dispute. The incident of brother-in-law killing has given rise to deep grief and concern in the entire area. The atmosphere in the area has become heavy with the wailing of the relatives of the deceased.
