Emotional Farewell Reception Held for Head Teacher Nirmal Kumar Sikdar in Chitalmari

After a long career in teaching, Head Teacher Nirmal Kumar Sikdar of Sammilani Secondary School in Puratan Kalshira village under Chitalmari upazila of Bagerhat has retired from his position. A farewell reception was arranged in his honor, which turned into an emotional and touching moment as students, colleagues, guardians and local dignitaries shared memories and expressed their gratitude.


The program was held on Thursday at 11:00 AM in the school hall room. Acting Head Teacher Haridas Ghorami delivered the welcome speech, highlighting the dedication, honesty and leadership of Nirmal Kumar Sikdar in the field of education. Teachers, students, guardians and representatives of different social organizations warmly honored him with flowers. At the beginning of the program, students welcomed the guests with floral greetings.


Among others, speeches were delivered by Maulana Idrisur Rahman, Superintendent of Aruabarny Alia Madrasa; Ekramul Haque Munshi, President of Chitalmari Press Club; Md. Soaib Hossain Gazi, President of Chitalmari Bazaar Business Management Committee; and Shailendra Nath Barai, Head Teacher of Chitalmari Hasina Begum Secondary Girls’ School. Teacher representative Aziz Sheikh and 10th grade student Amena Akter also expressed their feelings and appreciation.


Present at the event were Md. Moniruzzaman Khan, President of Chitalmari Sadar Union BNP; Rafiqul Islam Dhola, Organizing Secretary; former school president Abu Sayeed; Khalilur Rahman; Jinnat Ali Sheikh; former Upazila Sramik Dal President Tipu Sikdar; Jiniya Akter Chaina, District Women Affairs Secretary of Gono Odhikar Parishad; Al-Akbar Jisan, President of Upazila Student Gono Odhikar Parishad, along with other respected members of the community.


The event was conducted by Assistant Teacher Md. Golam Faruk Bulu. Speakers remembered Nirmal Kumar Sikdar as a sincere and dedicated teacher who played an important role in shaping the future of many students. They also mentioned that he set a strong example of moral values and commitment to education.


At the time of farewell, many teachers and students became emotional, expressing deep gratitude for his contributions. They said that the absence of such an ideal teacher will be deeply felt. His service and dedication will always be remembered by the school and the community.


The farewell ceremony ended in a warm and emotional atmosphere filled with respect, appreciation and heartfelt wishes for his future.
