HSC-2026
examinees staged a protest march and a sit-in on the road in Bogura, demanding
the resignation of Education Minister A.H.N.M. Ehsanul Karim. The protest took
place around 11:30 AM on Tuesday (July 14) at the city's Satmatha intersection.
Earlier, around 11:00 AM, the protesting students had gathered at the
Altafunnesa Playground. Subsequently, they staged a protest march and blocked
the road at the city's Satmatha intersection. After remaining there until 12:00
PM, they proceeded to the Deputy Commissioner's office. Examinees from several
educational institutions in the district—including Government Azizul Haque
College, Government Shah Sultan College, and BIAM Model School and
College—participated in the protest march. At this time, agitated students
stated that HSC examinees across the country faced significant hardship because
examinations continued on Monday (July 13) amidst days of continuous rain. They
also expressed their resentment regarding errors in the Physics question paper
for the Science stream. They further stated that they were mentally
disadvantaged before the exam even began due to issues such as waterlogging at
the entrances of most exam centers in Bogura, a lack of electricity in the exam
halls, and rainwater seeping inside. They put forward three demands: postponing
the examination, arranging a re-examination for the approximately 19,000
candidates across the country—including those in Bogura—who were absent due to
the heavy rainfall, and the resignation of the Education Minister.
