Business and music usually occupy different realms, but Kazi Zafor, a young entrepreneur from Jhalakathi, has seamlessly bridged the two. Despite being a businessman by profession, his deep-rooted passion for music remains central to his life. Zafor is a versatile talent-juggling roles as a drama director, producer, and percussionist. Today, his rhythmic mastery over instruments like the drums and congo is captivating audiences across various musical stages. Born in Palot village under Rajapur Upazila of Jhalakathi district, Zafor is the son of businessman Kazi Samsul Haque and homemaker. His affinity for music began in childhood.
In a village with limited access to formal music training, Zafor found creative ways to practice. Whenever he gathered with friends for music
sessions, he would create beats using whatever was at hand. This childhood
habit of drumming on school tables and benches during breaks laid the
foundation for his journey to becoming a full-fledged percussionist.Although family
and livelihood responsibilities led Kazi Zafor into business, his heart returns
to rhythms and beats after a busy workday. He is now a professional
percussionist, regularly performing with various bands and musical artists. His
skills span a wide range of percussion instruments, including the drums, congo,
bongo, and khanjani, earning admiration from audiences and peers alike. Fellow
musicians recognize him as a highly reliable and talented instrumentalist. Kazi Zafor believes music is not just a temporary hobby but an integral part of
life. Alongside running his business, he aims to elevate his musical craft and
journey far with pure music. His ultimate goal is to represent Bangladesh as a
skilled percussionist on both national and international stages.
