The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has extended the deadline for owners of motorcycles and other motor vehicles to update their vehicle documents and driving licences by paying outstanding taxes and fees without any penalties.
The BRTA confirmed the extension in an urgent notice issued on Monday, October 26.
According to the notice, the government has extended the deadline until Thursday, October 29, allowing owners to update vehicle fitness certificates, tax tokens, route permits and driving licences by paying only the applicable taxes and fees, without additional penalties.
The BRTA said this would be the final opportunity for vehicle owners and drivers to take advantage of the waiver.
It urged all concerned to pay their outstanding taxes and fees and update their vehicle documents and driving licences by the October 29 deadline to avoid penalties.
