He made the call while addressing a community policing gathering at Bagerhat District Police Lines on Sunday morning, October 25, 2026. Bagerhat Superintendent of Police Md. Jamirul Islam chaired the event.

The IGP said police and the public must work together to build a peaceful, safe and crime-free Bangladesh, following the principle, “Police are the people, and the people are the police.”

He stressed the need to raise public awareness about drug abuse, road accidents, law and order, and cybercrime. He also called on families, educational institutions and communities to work together to protect young people from the harmful effects of drugs.

The IGP said the effective use of technology and mutual trust between police and the public were essential for providing modern, accessible and people-friendly police services. He urged everyone to play a responsible role in building an equal, drug-free and prosperous Bangladesh.

In his speech, Superintendent of Police Md.
