The Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) has honored officers and personnel
of its Traffic Division in recognition of their outstanding performance and
dedicated service.
The award-giving ceremony was held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8,
2026, at the conference hall of the KMP Headquarters. The awards were presented
by Khulna Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mohammad Jahidul Hasan, BPM
(Service), who attended the event as the chief guest.
A total of 31 traffic personnel were recognized for their excellent
performance, professionalism, and commitment to traffic management over the past
month. The recipients included one Inspector (City and Transport), five
Sergeants/Traffic Sergeants (TSIs), five Assistant Traffic Sub-Inspectors
(ATSIs), and twenty Constables.
Speaking at the event, the Police Commissioner said that traffic personnel
play a vital role not only in managing traffic but also in maintaining law and
order. He instructed them to immediately report any suspicious procession,
motorcycle rally, criminal activity, or emergency situation to the police
control room or through the wireless communication system.
He also urged the officers to perform their duties with greater
professionalism, vigilance, and dedication to public service so that city
residents can travel safely and without inconvenience.
Highlighting the importance of environmental conservation, the
Commissioner said that everyone has a responsibility to help build a livable
world for future generations. He shared that, through his personal initiative,
he has collected 12,000 tree saplings, which will be planted at various
educational institutions and government offices. He encouraged all police
personnel to plant trees at their homes, offices, and workplaces, describing
tree plantation as a form of Sadaqah Jariyah (a continuous charitable act).
Among those present at the ceremony were Additional Police Commissioner
(Traffic and Protocol) Muhammad Shahnewaz Khaled, PPM (Service), Deputy Police
Commissioner (Traffic) Shafiqul Islam, and other senior police officials.
The Police Commissioner expressed hope that such recognition programs
would continue in the future, saying that rewarding good performance would
inspire field-level personnel, strengthen their sense of responsibility, and
further improve the quality of public service.
