Police conducted a large-scale anti-drug
operation in the Motbigram area under Chandraganj Police Station in
Lakshmipur on July 28, 2026, targeting suspected drug dealers and
illegal narcotics activities.
The operation was led by the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of
Chandraganj Police Station, with multiple police teams carrying
out extensive searches across the area.
According to police, a group had allegedly
been involved in the clandestine use and distribution of illegal drugs in
Motbigram for an extended period. Acting on intelligence, law enforcement
launched the coordinated operation to curb drug-related activities.
During the drive, police searched the
residences of several individuals identified as suspected drug dealers,
including Faruk,
Abul Bashar, Sujon, Saddam, Rakib, Kabir, Kader, Anu Taleb, Jobayer, Arif, Waz
Karuni, Saimon, Rana, Mithun, Kawsar, Milon, and Sabuj, among
others. Police said they recovered various items allegedly used for drug
consumption from different locations during the searches.
Local residents welcomed the operation,
saying such initiatives are essential to protecting young people from the
harmful effects of drugs. They noted that concerns over drug-related activities
had persisted in the area for a long time and that the latest operation had
brought a sense of relief to the community.
Chandraganj Police said similar anti-drug
operations will continue regularly to eliminate narcotics-related crimes and
maintain law and order in the area. Authorities also stated that strict legal
action will be taken against anyone found involved in drug trafficking or
abuse.
Police further emphasized that public awareness and community cooperation are vital to the success of anti-drug campaigns and urged residents to report any suspicious activities to law enforcement.
