Certificate Distribution Ceremony Held for Trained Imams

A closing and certificate distribution ceremony was held for the imams who completed training under the regular 1,220th batch of the Imam Training Academy of the Islamic Foundation, Khulna.


Khulna District Police Superintendent Sarker Omar Faruk attended the programme as the chief guest and handed certificates to the trained imams.


In his speech, the chief guest highlighted the important role of imams in promoting religious values, social harmony, morality and public awareness.


He expressed hope that the trained imams would play a more positive role in establishing peace, discipline and mutual harmony in society.


He said, “No criminal will be allowed to escape after committing a crime. Everyone involved in criminal activities will be brought under the law.”


He also said that legal action would be taken against any police member found involved in criminal activities.

The police superintendent further said that Khulna District Police is working to build a Khulna free from terrorism, drugs and crime. Since assuming office as the new police superintendent, emphasis has been placed on improving the law-and-order situation and enhancing the quality of public services at every police station. Necessary measures will continue to be taken to establish the police as a symbol of public trust, he added.


Mohammad Mahiuddin Majumdar, director of the Islamic Foundation’s Khulna Divisional Office, attended the programme as a special guest.


The event was presided over by Agriculturist A.B.M. Tabibur Rahman, deputy director of the Imam Training Academy, Khulna.

Imam trainees from various districts across the Khulna division were also present. Certificates were distributed among the trained imams at the conclusion of the programme.
