Beating for interest money in Rajoir, 1 person died

One person died in a clash between two parties due to a dispute over interest money in Rajoir Upazila under Madaripur district. The incident took place in front of Chunnu Sheikh's tea shop in Krishnapur village at around 6.15 pm last Saturday. Deceased Rahim Sardar (48) son of deceased Sohrab Sardar of Krishnapur village.


According to local sources, Rahim Sardar used to sell polar fragrant rice in a van in Dhaka. There was an argument with Asad Bepari (50) and his son Didar Bepari (23) of the same village over the transaction of interest due money. At one point, scuffles and fights broke out between the two sides. Rahim Sardar became seriously ill. Later, the locals rescued him and took him to Bhanga Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.

 

Qutub Uddin Ahmed, officer in charge (investigation) of Rajair police station said that the body has been sent to Faridpur Medical College Hospital morgue for postmortem. Legal process is ongoing in this incident.
