Hasanul Haq Inu has been sentenced to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment by
International Crimes Tribunal-2 in a case involving crimes against humanity
committed during the July mass uprising.
The verdict was delivered on Tuesday by a
three-member tribunal headed by Justice Nazrul Islam Chowdhury.
Inu faced a total of eight charges in the
case. The allegations included inciting violence against protesters,
involvement in the "shoot-at-sight" decision, ordering the killing of
six protesters in Kushtia, and playing a role in the use of force to suppress
the movement. During the trial, the prosecution presented 10 witnesses, while
the defense produced two witnesses.
With this verdict, the International Crimes Tribunal has concluded its sixth case related to crimes against humanity committed during the July mass uprising.
