Members of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) deployed at Dhaka Dental Hospital recovered a gold chain worth approximately Tk 110,000 and returned it to its rightful owner after proper verification, demonstrating honesty, professionalism, and dedication to public service.

The incident took place on Friday, July 24, 2026, at around 4:00 p.m. on the 7th-floor male ward of Dhaka Dental Hospital under Mirpur Police Station in the Dhaka Metropolitan Ansar (DMA) West Zone.

The owner, Haji Abdul Majid (78), a resident of Cumilla, was undergoing treatment at the hospital when he accidentally lost his gold chain, weighing approximately half a bhori. According to the patient, he intended to sell the chain to cover his medical expenses.

At around 5:30 p.m., Abdul Majid informed on-duty Ansar members Md. Fazlul Haque and Md. Mashiur Rahman about the missing chain. They immediately reported the matter to Guard In-Charge PC Md. Jasim Uddin, who led a search operation.

The Ansar team conducted an extensive search throughout the hospital, questioned relevant individuals, and searched suspected persons. After several hours of investigation, the missing gold chain was recovered at approximately 8:30 p.m. from a man who said he had found it inside a container in a seventh-floor washroom and kept it for safekeeping.

As it was late at night and the owner was elderly, the recovered chain was securely kept in the custody of Guard In-Charge PC Md. Jasim Uddin until the following morning.

On Saturday, July 25, at around 10:00 a.m., Abdul Majid presented the necessary information and proof of ownership. After verification, the gold chain was officially handed over to him.

Receiving his valuable possession, Abdul Majid became emotional and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the members of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party. He said the chain was meant to be sold to finance his medical treatment and praised the Ansar personnel for their honesty, integrity, professionalism, and humanitarian service.

The Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party stated that, in addition to ensuring security at government hospitals and other important installations, its members remain committed to protecting the public, recovering lost property, and providing reliable services with the highest standards of professionalism and accountability.
