Mahitul Islam, Head Teacher of 62 No. A.K. Faizul Haque Government Primary School in Chitalmari upazila, has been selected as the Best Teacher of Bagerhat district. He received this recognition for his outstanding contribution to the education sector, overall development of the school, and remarkable role in improving the quality of education for students.

Earlier, he achieved the honor of being selected as the Best Teacher of Chitalmari upazila for four consecutive times. His continuous success has created joy among teachers, students, guardians, and local residents. People from different walks of life have congratulated and appreciated him for this achievement.

According to sources, Mahitul Islam joined A.K. Faizul Haque Government Primary School as Head Teacher on February 22, 2023. At that time, the school had only 85 students. After taking charge, he introduced several initiatives to improve the teaching system, discipline, educational environment, and overall management of the institution. Due to his sincere efforts and dedicated leadership, guardians gradually gained confidence in the school, and student enrollment increased significantly. Currently, around 305 students are studying at the institution.

As a result of continuous improvement in academic performance and the overall environment of the school, Mahitul Islam was selected as the Best Teacher of Chitalmari upazila consecutively from 2023 to 2026.

Recently, in the presence of Upazila Nirbahi Officer Khadiza Akter and Upazila Education Officer Achyutananda Das, he was officially declared the Best Teacher of Chitalmari upazila for the year 2026. Later, on Wednesday, May 20, he earned the honor of becoming the Best Teacher of Bagerhat district.

Regarding the matter, Upazila Education Officer Achyutananda Das said that among the government primary schools in the upazila, A.K. Faizul Haque Government Primary School has shown remarkable standards in education, discipline, and overall management. He added that Mahitul Islam’s dedication, efficiency, and successful leadership played a vital role in the school’s continuous development, which ultimately led to his recognition as both the best teacher of the upazila and the district.
