Ahsan elected President, Mahidul elected General Secretary of BCS Taxation Association

 Ahsan Habib has been elected President of the BCS Taxation Association, while Syed Mahidul Hasan has been elected General Secretary. The annual general meeting and election for the 2026–27 executive committee were held on Friday at the Revenue Building of the National Board of Revenue, where both were elected unopposed.

 

Ahsan Habib previously served as Director General of the Central Intelligence Cell (CIC) of the NBR and currently works as an NBR Member for Tax Administration and Human Resource Management. Syed Mahidul Hasan also served as General Secretary in the current committee and is currently the Director General of the Tax Inspection Directorate. The meeting was attended by Md. Abdur Rahman Khan, Chairman of the National Board of Revenue.

 

In the new committee, the Vice Presidents are Kabir Uddin Molla, Md. Shah Ali, and Mostafizur Rahman. The Joint General Secretaries are Muhammad Muinul Islam and Jafar Imam.

 

Mahmudul Hasan Bhuiyan has been elected Treasurer, while Farzanul Islam is the Office Secretary and Firoz Kabir is the Assistant Office Secretary. Dipak Kumar Pal has been elected Publicity and Publications Secretary, and Enamul Islam is the Assistant Publicity and Publications Secretary.

 

For research roles, Md. Moniruzzaman has been elected Research Secretary and Faruk Hossain as Assistant Research Secretary. In social welfare roles, Abu Musa is the Social Welfare Secretary and Nurul Huda Bhuiya is the Assistant Social Welfare Secretary.

 

For information and technology, Wakil Ahmad has been elected Secretary and Touhidur Rahman as Assistant Secretary. In cultural affairs, Fatema Khatun has been elected Secretary and Nazmun Nahar as Assistant Secretary. For sports, Abdul Malek has been elected Secretary and A. Moin Khandakar as Assistant Secretary. Additionally, 27 members were elected to the Executive Council.
