Government Ready for Dialogue in National Interest, PM Invites Opposition

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has said the government is ready to engage in constructive dialogue with opposition political parties in the national interest. He emphasized that any effective proposal aimed at public welfare will be given due important.

 

Speaking during a session of the 13th National Parliament, the Prime Minister made the remarks while responding to discussions raised by opposition members on the ongoing energy crisis and public hardship. He thanked opposition leaders and lawmakers, noting that despite disagreement, all sides remain united on issues concerning national interest.

 

He pointed out that the current energy crisis is not limited to Bangladesh, but is part of a broader global challenge. In this context, he stressed the importance of coordinated efforts and mutual cooperation.

 

The Prime Minister said the government is always open to considering any logical proposals from the opposition and is willing to discuss them. He also assured that practical and effective recommendations would be implemented where feasible.

 

He further announced that, as Leader of the House, he would formally invite the opposition for dialogue. Reaffirming his commitment, he said the government will take all necessary steps to meet public expectations.

 

The parliamentary session, presided over by Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, began in the afternoon and included a lengthy discussion on the country’s current energy situation.
