Bangladesh Coast Guard has detained two people with 45
kilograms of deer meat during separate drives in Nalian Bazar and the adjoining
Doanirghat area of Dakop upazila in Khulna.

Alam Sujon said the drives were conducted by a team from Coast Guard Outpost
Nalian between 11:30pm and midnight on Friday (August 14), following
confidential information. During the operations, the team recovered 45
kilograms of deer meat, estimated to be worth around Tk 99,000, and detained
two people allegedly involved in the illegal meat trade.
The seized meat and the detainees were later handed
over to the Nalian Forest Office for further legal action.
The Coast Guard said operations to prevent the killing
and trafficking of wildlife in the Sundarbans will continue.
