A courtesy meeting and exchange of views was held between journalists of the Chitalmari Press Club and the newly appointed Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chitalmari Police Station, Shahidur Rahman, in Bagerhat.

The meeting took place on Saturday (July 18) at the Chitalmari Police Station. Discussions focused on maintaining law and order in the upazila, conducting regular anti-drug operations, preventing crime, strengthening public safety, and enhancing cooperation between the police and the media.

Among those present were Ekramul Haque Munshi, President of Chitalmari Press Club; Md. Azad Khan, Senior Vice President; Princh Mondal Olif, General Secretary; Md. Tanzir Munshi, Joint General Secretary; Sheikh Firoz Ahmed, Organizing Secretary; Sagar Mondal, Information and Communication Technology Affairs Secretary; Princh Halder, Sports Secretary; and Towhidur Rahman Babu, General Secretary of Chitalmari Upazila Press Club, along with other local journalists.

During the meeting, the journalists presented complimentary copies of their respective newspapers to the newly appointed OC and extended their warm congratulations.

It is noteworthy that Shahidur Rahman joined Chitalmari Police Station as Officer-in-Charge on June 30, 2026, after being transferred from Chuadanga District Headquarters. His appointment has been welcomed with optimism, and expectations remain high for strengthening law enforcement and ensuring public safety in the area.
