The Bangladesh Meteorological
Department has forecast continued rainfall across several parts of the country,
including Dhaka, over the next few days.
Heavy rain that began early Tuesday
morning caused waterlogging and disrupted daily life in many areas, though it
also brought relief from the intense heat and humidity that had persisted for
several days.
Persistent rainfall has left many
roads submerged, creating difficulties for office-goers and pedestrians.
Despite the inconvenience, temperatures have dropped significantly, easing
discomfort across the country. In some regions where temperatures had
approached 40°C in recent days, conditions have become notably cooler. The
lowest temperature was recorded in Srimangal at 18°C.
According to the weather forecast,
rain and thunderstorms are likely to continue until Saturday in different parts
of the country. Gusty winds and lightning may also occur in some areas.
Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected particularly in the Sylhet Division,
Chattogram Division, and Mymensingh Division regions.
Meteorologists say the current
weather pattern is being driven by an active low-pressure system affecting the
country. From Wednesday through Saturday, intermittent rainfall is expected
across multiple divisions, with the possibility of very heavy downpours in
certain areas.
However, the weather office
indicated that rainfall may gradually decrease toward the end of the week,
while both daytime and nighttime temperatures could rise again slightly.
