The Fruit
Traders Association has taken various initiatives to make the local and foreign
fruit market on Station Road in Bogura metropolis clean, safe and modern. For
this purpose, 14 CCTV cameras, 25 garbage drums, and 4 cleaning vans were
inaugurated on Monday (June 8) at around 11:30 am. Bogura City Corporation
Administrator M. R. Islam Shadhin spoke as the chief guest at the program
organized in front of the Bogura Fruit Traders Association office. In his
speech as the chief guest, he said, "To build a modern, healthy and safe
fruit market, traders need awareness as well as coordinated initiatives. This
initiative of the Bogura Fruit Traders Association will play an important role
in improving the overall environment of the market, improving the quality of
public services and ensuring a safe environment for buyers and sellers."
The event,
chaired by Bogura Fruit Traders Association President Md. Sekendar Kazi and
moderated by General Secretary Md. Alamgir Hasan, featured special guest
speeches by the association's chief advisor Advocate Nazmul Huda Papon, former
councilor Touhidul Islam Bitu, District Lathe Workers Union President Liton
Sheikh Bagha, former association president Mahmud Sharif Mithu, and senior
member Alhaj Mukul Hossain.
Also present
at the time were the association's vice-presidents Abdul Motaleb Sheikh, Shamim
Ahmed, deputy general secretary Mamun Sheikh, organizing secretary Shariful
Islam Sohag, treasurer Matiur Rahman, social welfare secretary Liton Chandra
Das, members Abdur Rahman Atiq, Md. Wasim Pramanik and Tofail Ahmed, among
others.
Organizers
said that 14 CCTV cameras have been installed at the fruit market to ensure
security. In addition, 25 garbage drums have been provided to maintain a clean
environment and 4 vans have been arranged to conduct regular cleaning
activities.
